STA 1+00About
A family business, started in 2026.
J & L Digging and Grading LLC is Jesse and Lauren White's family business in Fulton. The company is new; the experience behind it is not.
Jesse started running heavy equipment as a kid, helping his father at the family campground. He trained in repairing and maintaining machinery and worked his way into a union job as a diesel mechanic and heavy equipment operator. After an injury a couple of years ago, he put those years of hands-on experience into his own company.
We will never take on a job we're not confident we can complete correctly. Our goal is to do the job right, 100% the first time.

What we dig
Residential jobs, sized for a homeowner. Every job starts with a site walk and a free estimate.

Gravel driveways
New driveways, extensions, rebuilds and parking pads. Stripped to firm ground, built on a compacted stone base, and crowned so water runs off instead of sitting in the tire tracks.
Free estimate 315-916-7322
Ditches and drainage
Ditches, swales and drainage lines that move water off the yard and away from the house, dug to steady fall with a real place for the water to go.
Free estimate 315-916-7322
Trenching for wire and lines
Trenches for buried electric conduit, water and drainage lines to sheds, garages and barns. Dug to the depth your electrician or plumber needs, then backfilled clean.
Free estimate 315-916-7322
Fence post holes
Post holes for fences, decks and outbuildings, augered straight on your layout and below the frost depth your town uses.
Free estimate 315-916-7322
Grading and leveling
Yard grading, level pads for sheds, and regrading so the ground falls away from the foundation. Left raked out and ready for seed or stone.
Free estimate 315-916-7322Also on request
- Land clearing, with tree removal handled by a trusted local forestry partner

STA 3+00Field notes
Worth knowing before the machine shows up
01 / Driveways
Who owns your road decides the permit
On an Oswego County road, the County Highway Department installs the driveway culvert itself under a County permit, and you buy the pipe they specify. Onondaga County, town and state roads each run their own permits. We tell you which office to call.
02 / Spring
Posted roads can hold up spring jobs
Towns post weight limits on their roads during mud season, and a loaded truck and equipment trailer can be over them. A job on a posted road may wait until the limits lift.
03 / Every dig
811 comes first, by law
New York requires a dig-safe notice at least two and no more than ten working days before digging. Utilities mark their lines. Private lines you ran yourself are not marked, so point those out.
